Washable inner element

Basket filter elements are taken out of the line and cleared of trapped particles by backwashing, pressurised water/air jets or chemical/ultrasonic baths, and can be reused many times.
Calendered (heat-pressed) surfaces let the filter cake drop from the plate easily; the right air permeability and fibre choice shorten the filtration time and give a drier cake.
Square weave wire mesh, with equal warp and weft wires, is used for standard screening and coarse particle filtration; in Dutch (Hollander) weave the weft wires are pressed very tightly together, giving fine surface filtration down to 5 µm with high mechanical strength.
