Mobile Filter Housing System
Fast, Safe Access to Every Point in the Plant with a Single Filtration Unit
A mobile filter housing system is a filtration unit in which a bag, cartridge or basket filter housing is mounted on a wheeled, braked carrier and can be moved around the plant, with an optional pump.

What is a mobile filter housing system?
Filtration needs are not always fixed at one point. One day it is needed at the preparation tank, the next day before filling, and at the weekend for line cleaning.
This is where the mobile filter housing system comes in. The filter housing itself is standard. What changes is how the housing is positioned. The housing is securely fixed to a wheeled, braked carrier, and the inlet and outlet connections are made with flexible hoses. The result: a single filtration unit serves the entire plant.

Which filter housings can be made mobile?
Bag Filter Housing
The most common choice for mobile systems. The type with the fastest element change.
Product Page →Why is capacity limited on a mobile system?
As the filter housing diameter increases, two things happen at once: the centre of gravity rises and the mass to be moved increases. On a wheeled carrier, this combination creates a risk of tipping over, especially on sloping floors, when crossing hoses or cables, or when stopping suddenly.
With multi-bag housings, the diameter and the mass to be moved exceed the safe manoeuvring limit. A single-bag configuration keeps the centre of gravity within the carrier’s support area even when full.
When the limit is exceeded
Not suitable for mobile systems
When the body diameter exceeds the Ø406 mm threshold, the centre of gravity rises and the mass to be moved increases. Beyond this point, the risk of tipping on sloping floors, when crossing hoses or when stopping suddenly goes outside acceptable limits.
Can more than one filter housing be fitted on a mobile system?
Yes. Single bag and basket filter housings can also be mounted on the mobile system connected in parallel or in series. This is how to go beyond the capacity limit without compromising safety.
Single Layout
- Work at a single point with limited volume
- The most compact and manoeuvrable option
- The system's standard configuration
Parallel layout
- Flow is shared between the housings, increasing total capacity
- Elements fill more slowly
- One housing can be isolated with valves to change elements without stopping the system
- The same filtration fineness in all housings
Series layout
- The fluid passes through the housings one after another
- Coarse particles are caught in the first stage, protecting the fine element
- Typical set-up: bag or basket → cartridge
- Filtration fineness increases stage by stage
Which layout should I choose?
- Working at a Single Point & Limited Volume
- The basic layout, ideal for standard flow at a single point and compact working areas.
- Insufficient Capacity & Elements Filling Quickly
- Double capacity on lines that require high flow rates or carry a high solids load.
- Uninterrupted Operation & Change-Outs Without Stopping the Line
- Thanks to isolation valves, the consumables in one housing can be changed while the other keeps running, without interrupting flow.
- Mixed Coarse and Fine Particles
- The first housing retains coarse particles and the second fine particles, giving in-depth filtration.
- Protecting a Sensitive, Expensive Element
- A coarse protective stage placed ahead of the sensitive final-stage element to extend its service life.
Mobile filter system with pump motor
- Mobile System with Pump Motor
- Runs on its own on-board pump; handles tank-to-tank transfer, recirculation and IBC emptying anywhere there is a power socket and a hose.
- Pumpless (Line-Pressure) System
- Uses the pressure of the existing process line or a height difference; a low-cost way to add a temporary filtration point to lines.
Pumpless — carrier only
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Flow Source | Existing line or height difference |
| Independence | Depends on the line |
| Use | Temporary filtration on an existing pressurised line |
| Investment | Lower |
With pump — motorised
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Flow Source | Its own on-board pump |
| Independence | Fully independent — a socket and a hose are enough |
| Use | Tank-to-tank transfer, recirculation, drum and IBC emptying |
| Investment | Higher |
What does the system include?

Mobile system or fixed system?
- Flexibility of Point of Use
- A mobile system is easily moved to different lines, tanks and IBC filling stations across the factory.
- Installation and Infrastructure
- Requires no fixed piping, welding or floor anchoring; it is commissioned instantly on a plug-and-play basis.
- Commissioning Time
- Runs on the day it arrives on site, compared with the weeks of engineering needed for fixed systems.
- Investment Economics
- A single mobile unit serves multiple points instead of buying a separate filter housing for each line.
- Process Suitability
- Ideal for periodic tasks such as routine cleaning, tank-to-tank transfer and drum and IBC emptying.
- Saving Production Floor Space
- Can be wheeled back to storage when the job is done; does not permanently occupy floor space in tight production halls.
Safe use
- Empty the Housing Before Moving It
- A full housing is the biggest risk factor for a mobile system tipping over; always drain the liquid before moving it.
- Lock the Brakes at Every Stop
- When the system is brought into working position, the carrier's wheel brakes must always be locked.
- Do Not Exceed Capacity Limits
- The maximum body sizes defined for ergonomics and tip-over safety (1 bag / 1 basket / 19 cartridges) must not be exceeded.
- Sloping Floors and Cable Crossings
- Because of the high centre of gravity, move the system carefully and slowly up and down ramps and over floor obstacles.
- Make Sure Pressure Is Released
- Never open the lid until the line pressure inside the filter body has been confirmed on the gauge and brought to zero.
- Do Not Leave Hoses Taut
- The flexible inlet and outlet hoses must not be under tension; avoid the risk of hose recoil tipping the system over.
