Prolite Filter Housing

What Is the Prolite Filter Housing?

The Prolite filter housing has an AISI 304 stainless steel body and retains particles in liquids with a bag filter or cartridge filters. Dirty liquid enters at the upper side of the housing, passes through the filter and leaves clean at the lower opposite side. Full bags or cartridges are easily replaced by opening the clamp lid.

The Prolite series is designed to meet the need for a stainless steel filter housing at a budget-friendly cost. Because it works with standard bag and cartridge filters in any micron rating, both the initial investment and consumable costs stay under control.

The series consists of two models: the Single Bag Filter Housing and the 4-Cartridge Filter Housing. Both models have a clamp lid, a silicone gasket, a special compression system and a pressure gauge.

Filtration Architecture and Working Principle

Prolite filter housing assembly – step 1
STEP 01

Inlet into the Body

Dirty liquid enters the filter housing through the inlet connection on the upper side.

Prolite filter housing assembly – step 2
STEP 02

Filtration with Bags or Cartridges

The liquid passes through a bag or cartridge filter of the required micron rating, and particles are retained in the filter. The compression system prevents filter bypass.

Prolite filter housing assembly – step 3
STEP 03

Clean Liquid Outlet

The filtered liquid continues into the line through the outlet connection on the lower opposite side. Pressure is monitored with a pressure gauge.

Advantages of the Prolite Filter Housing

AISI 304 Stainless Body
Durable, long-lasting use with a stainless steel body.
Clamp Lid
The lid opens and closes with a clamp, making filter changes quick and practical.
Zero Bypass Risk
The special compression system eliminates the risk of filter bypass and leakage.
Pressure Gauge as Standard
Pressure and filter loading are monitored with a pressure gauge.
Wide Choice of Connections
Muff, nipple, flange or union connections from DN25 to DN100.
Two Models, One Series
Choose the model from the same series according to whether you need bag or cartridge filters.

Models

Prolite filter housings are made in two models according to the filter type used. Both models share the same body material, lid type and operating pressure standard.

Prolite Single Bag Filter Housing

Works with one bag filter. 180 mm in diameter; used with bags 230, 380, 430 and 810 mm long with polypropylene, stainless steel or galvanised steel collars.

Prolite 4-Cartridge Filter Housing

Works with four cartridge filters. Used with all cartridge filters 20″, 30″ and 40″ long in any micron rating.

Filtration Precision and Compatible Filters

The micron rating is a property of the bag or cartridge fitted inside, not of the housing. The Prolite filter housing works with standard bag and cartridge filters in any micron rating.

Bag Filter
Bags 180 mm in diameter and 230, 380, 430 and 810 mm long, with polypropylene, stainless steel or galvanised steel collars.
Cartridge Filter
All cartridge filters 20″, 30″ and 40″ long in any micron rating; cartridge diameter varies.

Engineer's Note

TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT BASED ON FIELD EXPERIENCE

Material selection

Prolite filter housings are made only with an AISI 304 stainless steel body. Before selecting, confirm that the liquid you will filter is compatible with 304 stainless steel.

When to choose it

On lines with an operating pressure below 8 bar that use standard bag or cartridge filters and where the investment budget matters.

When not to choose it

In applications where line pressure exceeds 8 bar or a body material other than 304 is required.

Application and Selection Criteria

Filter Seating
For the compression system to prevent bypass and leakage, bags or cartridges must be fully seated.
Pressure Limit
Line pressure must not exceed a maximum of 8 bar; choose a different filter housing for lines above that.
Body Material Compatibility
The compatibility of the liquid with AISI 304 stainless steel must be checked before selection.

Filter Housing Selection Technical Checklist

To choose the right Prolite filter housing, consider the following parameters together. The micron rating is a property of the bag or cartridge fitted inside, not of the housing. If you are unsure about anything, contact our technical team.

Filter Type
Choose the single-bag or 4-cartridge model depending on whether you will use bag or cartridge filters.
Filtration Precision
Select a bag or cartridge in the required micron rating.
Filter Length
230, 380, 430 or 810 mm for bags; 20″, 30″ or 40″ for cartridges.
Connection Diameter
DN25, DN40, DN50, DN65, DN80 or DN100 depending on line diameter.
Connection Type
Muff, nipple, flange or union depending on your piping.
Operating Pressure
Line pressure must be a maximum of 8 bar.
Body Material Compatibility
The compatibility of the liquid with AISI 304 stainless steel must be checked.

Points to Watch During Use

Maximum efficiency and service life depend on correct installation and operating practices:

Correct Placement
Bags or cartridges must be fully seated in the compression system.
Pressure Monitoring
Check the pressure gauge regularly and track filter loading by pressure.
Pressure Limit
Operating pressure must not exceed 8 bar.
Open the Lid Depressurised
Depressurise the line before opening the clamp lid.
Gasket Check
Check the silicone gasket at every filter change and replace it if damaged.
Clamp Check
Tighten the lid clamp fully and evenly every time you close it.
Correct Consumables
Use bags or cartridges of the right length for the housing and in the required micron rating.
Body Cleaning
Keep the stainless body clean during filter changes.
