Filter housing guides

A filter housing does not work on its own: the cartridge or bag inside it, its seals and its maintenance routine have to be considered together. The guides here cover setting up a housing correctly and running it efficiently.

Liquid bag filter selection: felt or monofilament?

A felt bag filter is a depth filter that retains particles throughout the thickness of the fabric; it offers high dirt-holding capacity from 1 to 200 µm and is single use. A monofilament bag filter is a woven surface filter with fixed pores; it gives an exact micron cut-off from 20 to 1000 µm and can be washed and reused.

When to replace a cartridge filter: maintenance by differential pressure

A cartridge filter is replaced not by the calendar but by the pressure difference (ΔP) between the inlet and outlet gauges. For melt blown and string-wound cartridges, replacement is typically planned when ΔP reaches 2.0–2.4 bar.
