What Is a Meta-Aramid (Nomex) Bag Filter?
Meta-aramid bag filters are a dust filtration medium made by the needle-punched felt method from synthetic meta-aramid fibre that resists high temperatures and mechanical stress. “Nomex” is the well-known brand name for this fibre type. With a continuous operating temperature of 204 °C and high flex abrasion resistance, it is the industry’s standard filtration medium for processes in the 150–204 °C range. In intensive pulse-jet cleaning cycles where the brittle structure of glass fibre falls short, Nomex offers a clearly longer service life.
Nomex fibre keeps its dimensional stability at high temperatures and does not shrink or deform. With moderate chemical resistance (pH 5–9), it offers a reliable, economical solution in applications that combine high temperature and mechanical stress, such as asphalt mixing plants, cement clinker coolers, electric arc furnaces and metallurgical processes.
Product Identity and Technical Summary
Prosestim meta-aramid (Nomex) bag filters are made by needle-punching pure, high-temperature-resistant meta-aramid fibres in the 350–650 g/m² weight range. With a continuous operating temperature of 204 °C and high flex abrasion resistance, they keep the bag intact through intensive pulse-jet cleaning cycles; with the ePTFE membrane option, they offer emission performance of < 10 mg/Nm³ at PM2.5 level.
